A Wonderful Start to the Year
The week has flown by! It was lovely to hear from the children about all their Rosh Hashanah celebrations. They returned on Monday a little tired, but full of exciting tales of how they had spent the chag with their families.
This week, we have also carried out our baseline assessments using our new Quest Assessment programme. We were so impressed by the children’s focus, resilience and positive attitude towards their learning. It has been a pleasure to see them settling so well into the new school year.
It was lovely to meet our EYU parents on Tuesday evening at our Early Years Curriculum Evening, and we would like to extend a very warm welcome to all our new families joining the Kerem community. We are delighted to have you with us.
The school has certainly been buzzing this week with the sound of preparations for the chagim. Some of our classes were able to take advantage of the nearby stream and take part in Tashlich, while across the school the children have been learning about the meaning and customs of Yom Kippur. There is a real sense of excitement as we prepare for Sukkot, and we are all looking forward to visiting many of your homes. Thank you so much to those of you who have kindly offered your hospitality, we are very grateful and look forward to sharing this special time with you.
Well done for working so hard and moving up a level in Aleph Champ.

We wish everyone a Shabbat Shalom, an easy fast and a heartfelt Gemar Chatimah Tovah.

Happy Birthday to:
Emmanuel who turns 6 this week.
It's been a wonderful first full week at Kerem, and a pleasure to see the school come alive.
The classrooms have been full of purposeful learning, with the children returning refreshed, ready to learn and eager to get stuck into the new school year. They have impressed their teachers with their excellent behaviour, calm approach and positive attitude, and it has been lovely to see them settling so quickly into their new classes and routines.
Out on the playground, things have been rather more lively! There have been games, laughter, snacks, conversations and lots of catching up with friends. It is always wonderful to hear the happy sounds of children enjoying being together.
We have also really enjoyed meeting so many of you at our fabulous Meet the Teacher evening. Thank you to everyone who came along and took the time to meet your child’s teacher. We hope you enjoyed the sessions and found them informative, and that the evening gave you a lovely opportunity to start building those important relationships between home and school.
A special thank you to our wonderful PTA for providing such delicious food and creating a welcoming opportunity for everyone to socialise together. It was a lovely way to end the evening and a great reflection of the sense of community we want to create at Kerem.
A Special Kerem Tradition
Every year, one of our favourite things is walking around the school and looking at the children’s self-portraits. They are such a special part of the beginning of the school year, capturing the personality and individuality of each child.
We hope you enjoyed finding your child/ren’s portraits! They will become a very special keepsake for you and your family, as you will receive the whole collection when your child leaves Kerem in Year 6. What a lovely way to look back and see just how much they have grown and changed over the years.
It has been a fantastic start to the year, and we are excited for all that lies ahead.
Well done to all of the children who have moved up a level in Alef Champ!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a Shana Tova.
